"Engine or chain cover from SIP PERFORMANCE for LAMBRETTA models with a bearing-mounted Clutch Shaft and a premium surface finish.
The Engine Cover comes complete with bearing sleeves for the Clutch Shaft. In the original Cap, the Clutch Shaft runs directly in the aluminum. The pressure exerted by the Clutch on the Shaft creates high friction when the Clutch is engaged. This increases the force required to pull the Clutch. The SIP Clutch Cover features pressed-in bearing bushings to reduce friction and lower the required hand force.
SIP Engine Covers are based on UNI Engine Covers for DL/GP Models. The UNI Casing features increased wall thicknesses in areas subject to particularly high stress.
The DL/GP Engine Cover
The GP mechanism for operating the Clutch is slightly more modern and reliable and functions similarly to that found on Vespa large-frame models, using a push-button. The UNI chain covers for DL/GP models can also be used on the Li, TV, GT, Special, and SX series with the appropriate clutch pressure plate, ensuring a consistent look and function across multiple model lines.
